LARGEST MUSIC EVENT OF THE SUMMER
LANDS IN BROOKHAVEN AUGUST 8, 9 AND 10
Metro NY Balloon & Music Festival to feature more than 40 music acts on three stages and provide more than 100 hours of music and entertainment with admission
The Metro NY Balloon & Music Festival 2008 will “Reach for the Sky,” not only with a fantastic display of hot air balloons and kites, but will feature an outstanding lineup of over 40 bands and music artists performing all day long on three huge concert stages. The Festival, will be held the weekend of August 8, 9 and 10 at Calabro Airport in Brookhaven, and will include over 100 hours of live music and other entertainment. A highlight of the Festival will be the Party 105.3 Tenth Anniversary Mega Jam. The entertainment is guaranteed to be exciting and will offer something for every musical taste and age group. Top performers and bands appearing over the weekend include:
- Trio Zebra, in their only Long Island performance, classic rock (Sunday night)
- The Saw Doctors, direct from Ireland, classic Irish music (Saturday Night)
- Push Play, a local band and teen favorite.
- Big Shot, playing Billy Joel’s hits.
- The Machine, a touring Pink Floyd tribute band and spectacular laser light show.
- Dark Star Orchestra, recreating Grateful Dead shows, song for song, live.
- Unforgettable Fire, Performing the music of U2.
- Bad Medicine, Tribute to Bon Jovi.
- Beginnings, Tribute to Chicago.
- Street Survivor, Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
- Almost Queen, Tribute to Queen.
- Dr. K’s Motown Revue, Best of the Motown and more.
- Stealin’ Dan, 13 piece Tribute to Steely Dan.
- Seven Turns, Best of the Allman Brothers.
- Evolution, Tribute to Journey.
- Cass Dillon, a local singer/songwriter whose first release was written by Billy Joel.
Long Island’s, Party 105.3, will celebrate its Tenth Anniversary at the Festival with a Mega Jam on Saturday evening, August 9th. The Mega Jam will feature over 25 star pop and dance artists. Featured artists include Fat Joe, Naughty by Nature, Pitbull, Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child), Frankie J, La Bouche, Colby O’Donnis, George LaMond, Lumidee, Nina Sky, Reina, Sylver Logan Sharp, Veronica, Kim Sozzi, Lucas Prata, Noel, Ian Van Dahl, LMFAO, Denise Rviera, NGP, Fawni, Ercola featuring Daniella, Ercola featuring Jeremy and Anane.
Astoria Federal Savings Children’s Jubilee will host Starfish, a children’s music rock band, on Sunday morning, August 10th. In addition, the Second Marine Aircraft Wing Big Band and Show Band will perform several shows daily.

Tickets for the Festival can be purchased online in advance at the Festival’s website. Walk-in tickets at the Festival will cost slightly more. Tickets for the Festival are also available at participating RE/MAX real estate offices, Curves locations and PC Richard & Sons Metro NY locations. Discount coupons are available at all 88 McDonald’s franchise locations across the Long Island. Advance ticket prices are adult $20, children ages 5 to 11 $12 and kids 4 and under are free. All performances subject to change, hot air balloon inflations take place only between 6:00 am and 8:00 am in the morning and 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm in the evening wind and weather permitting.
